Yeah, you read that right...Potty Training with Stampin' Up! Never thought I'd find so many uses for Stampin' Up! (and this BY FAR is the best use I've found yet!!!)
We have tried EVERYTHING with this child when it comes to potty training...NOTHING has worked. We've tried the candy reward, we've tried the time-outs for every accident, we've tried the ridiculous made-up songs, we've tried tutu rewards, we've tried giving everything and taking away everything...still nothing. At wits end, I told made her a deal, every time she poops in the toilet she can make a card. It seemed to be working, today I was wondering how well it was working (was it just another one of those "I'll do this just long enough to get your hopes up and then it won't work anymore" kind of things? I swear there's some conspiracy when it comes to training kids). Then this morning she walked into my craft room and asked "Mommy, can you make a card with me?" I reminded her there was only one way that she got to make a card with me. She immediately walked into the bathroom, used the toilet and came back out and said "Now you make a card with me?" ***OVER-JOYED*** IT WORKED!!!
She is particularly fond of the Paper Pumpkin Cards since they don't take a lot of prep-work it makes it perfect for both of us. Anyone that is thinking of using this as a reward my one suggestion would be to let them do it themselves. It's kind of hard, as a crafter, to let them just do it...even when it's not "how it's supposed to be" or when they do it crooked...remember this is THEIR reward; you already had your reward...you didn't have to clean a diaper. :) Let them do it, it will be awesome for both of you.

Here are the cards she's made so far. One more suggestion...bling...let them add all the bling they want. She's so proud that she's made them prettier than they were meant to be.
She loved the "Watercolor Technique", it has been one of her favorites. She has started grabbing the Aqua Painter and asking to "Whoosh my card a pretty color"
